• to understand the utilisation of B-mode ultrasound, compound and harmonic imaging, 3DUS, sonoelastography and automated whole breast ultrasound in diagnosis of breast diseases
• to be familiar with sonographic features of various types of breast cancers and of benign changes
• to have an in-depth understanding of the role of breast ultrasound in screening and in relation to mammography and MRI

• to understand the technique of image-guided breast biopsy and its clinical importance
• to choose and appreciate the ablation techniques used to treat breast carcinoma under imaging guidance
• to be familiar with indications for ablation, and to appreciate the need for preoperative and postoperative imaging studies and recognise typical findings of patients undergoing ablation
